Singer/songwriter/producer Gary Loyd, a Greeneville, Tennessee native got his start at the age of eighteen singing and playing guitar in night clubs in Eastern Tennessee. By the time he was twenty he was opening for such acts as Dave Loggins  “Please Come To Boston” and guitar greats, Chet Atkins and Lenny Breu. Gary landed a six month contract at the 1982 Worlds Fair in Knoxville, TN with his all original band working beside guitar great Stanley Jordan. After the fair , Gary went on to open for such acts as Faith Hill, Russ Taff (at the Ryman), Deena Carter, Oak Ridge Boys, John Prine, Tanya Tucker, Lori Morgan, Carolina Rain and Jon Bon Jovi. Gary got his first break as a songwriter when Pop European sensation Cliff Richards recorded his self-written song “You” in 1984. Since then Gary has been a staff writer for Buzz Cason’s Southern Writers Group, Don Schlitz’s Hayes Street Music, Encore Entertainment, Toby Keith’s Paddock Music, Clint Blacks’ Blacktop Music Group, and currently for Here To Hear Music. Gary’s songs have been recorded by Tim McGraw, The Outlaws,  Michelle Wright, Shelly Fairchild, Vern Gosdin, Carolina Rain, and Bon Jovi to name a few. Title cuts include Shelly Fairchild “Ride” and Michelle Wright’s “The Reasons Why” Gary is currently producing his daughter Kaylan Loyd, a talented singer songwriter in her own right, who made it to Hollywood on American Idol as the youngest contestant to ever make it to the final round of Hollywood week turning sixteen only two weeks prior.
