Kim Carson was born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, raised in Canyon, Texas (near Amarillo) began to play piano at age 7 and took up the Oboe at age 12. She realized that Buck Owens never once used an Oboe in any of his songs and switched to guitar about 10 years ago. Her position in the band today is playing bass and singing lead vocals, which is not an every day happening and in addition she plays harmonica and her foot is playing too. The bigger part of the songs that she performes (depending on the venue) are original songs. Kim Carson is surely a “one of a kind artist” and she has been named “Best Country Artist” by the readers of the OffBeat Magazin eight times. Her concert album “Live at Tipitina’s” was voted “Best Country Album” of 2004. She has performed 11 times at the most prestigious “Jazz & Heritage Festival” in New Orleans. After building a name for herself as the undisputed “Queen of Louisiana Honky Tonk Music” she has distinguishing herself as a formidable Country & Honky Tonk Songwriter. Kim Carson tours regularly in Europe since 2000 and has a very loyal fan base in Switzerland, Germany and Austria.
