Take the journey with us!

Let the Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival introduce you to the songwriters who create the songs that inspire our daily lives. Songs create moods that can put smiles on your faces or tears in your eyes. There are emotions that live within us each and every day that a song sometimes has a way of healing.

You’ll be surprised to learn that the artist on the radio might not be the songwriter. The variety of songwriters is as different as the grains of sand that cover our beautiful pristine beaches. Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival is your chance to meet the writers and hear the stories behind the songs.

What do our songwriters contribute to the community?

n

nnnn

nn

n

The Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival celebrates the creators of the music! Music education is an important part of our Festival. One of our goals is to bring the songwriters into the classroom to provide instruction and mentoring about the art of music.

The 2023 Pensacola Beach Songwriters Festival will continue its journey of educational program. Songwriters that participate with the Nashville Country Music Hall of Fame “Words and Music” program will be hosting a workshop in three of our local schools. The program will include elementary and middle school students whose interest is in creative writing or music.

Children will be encouraged to participate in the process of creating their own songs as well as taking the stage to perform their creations. This will give young students a chance to have a hands on experience with a professional writer in the art of songwriting. Another goal we strive to achieve is to bring awareness to the general public. These few days will give you opportunities to not only hear the songs that you’ve danced to and fallen in love to, but also to meet and greet the songwriters that made it all possible. We appeal to all genres of music and endorse both professional and amateur songwriters.

Pensacola Beach Songfest, Inc under the Internal Revenue Code 501 (c)(3) is a nonprofit, tax exempt charitable organization.

TRIS WEEKS

Singer/songwriter Tris has had a deep love of music her entire life. Tris’s first performance was when she was just three years old, and she brought down the house! Since then her passion for music has continued to grow. Beginning in musical theatre, Tris spent the majority of her youth in group rehearsals and private lessons. She was accepted into the prestigious Interlochen Center for the Arts in northern Michigan where she intensively studied songwriting and contemporary vocals. Tris plays guitar, piano, and is also classically trained in voice. She feels primarily influenced by 60s/70s classic rock as well as modern alternative sounds. Her original songs have been described by many as soul-searching and poetic. Tris is a regular performer at venues all around the Gulf Coast and has presented shows in NYC, Nashville, Chicago, Colorado, and New Orleans. Tris has a big heart and gives back to society. She is active in organizing benefit concerts to raise money for The Tyler Robinson Foundation, a pediatric cancer non-profit organization created by the Grammy award-winning band, Imagine Dragons. They recognized her efforts as Ambassador of the Year at a huge Gala in Las Vegas. In addition to her solo career, Tris is the lead singer of the Classic Rock band Goldmine. At present, she is working on her Vocal Performance degree at University and is thrilled to be returning to the Pensacola Beach Songwriter’s Festival for a fourth year!
