STAR DE AZLAN

Fresh from the studio for the first time since being tied to the Nashville machine, Star de Azlan is ready to make waves and carving out her own path in the vibrant world of country music.
After her debut single “She’s Pretty” soared onto the national country Billboard charts in 2007, she faced the challenge of being told it was “too country for country radio.” Yet, Star’s unwavering belief in authentic country music has only fueled her passion. Now, as an independent artist, she is thrilled to unveil her latest single “Adios Cowboy,” a heartfelt tribute to her Texan and Latina roots.

Star’s lyrics resonate with the depth of a life fully lived, reflecting her journey and experiences, all produced in her beloved Texas with some of the finest musicians in the industry. Growing up in a humble 900 square foot river shack, she was surrounded by the timeless sounds of country legends like Patsy, Loretta, and Etta, who inspired her from a young age.

Her musical journey began with the violin and mariachi bands, leading to her first performance at the iconic Cheatham Street Warehouse at just 13 years old, where she sang alongside the Ace in The Hole Band. By 21, Star had signed with Curb Records, becoming the first Latina artist to secure a major country label deal in Nashville. Her talent took her across the nation and even sold out venues in Europe.

After taking a step back to rediscover her artistry and dive deep into her songwriting, Star is now back in the studio, recording at the legendary Arlyn Studios and crafting her new album. This marks her first time taking the reins on production, and it’s evident that she has found her true calling. Collaborating with the talented David Beck, who co-produces several tracks, Star brings a fresh and diverse sound to her music. With the support of acclaimed musicians like Lloyd Maines, Cody Braun, and Conrad Choucroun, her upcoming album promises to be a heartfelt celebration of her unique journey and musical heritage.
