This year saw an unexpected pause in the career of Nashville recording artist/ songwriter Hope Cassity. After successfully battling Multiple Sclerosis with a stem cell transplant, she went to war with a rare form of Ovarian Cancer that affects only 1% of women her age. Cassity previously earned an NCMA Award for Best Female Vocalist of the Year, two nominations for her original songs, earned ten songwriter cuts with CMA artists Penny Rae, in addition to other cuts with Erath Old, Victoria Camp, and Aubrey Lynn. She is anxious to resume work with her producers Jason Schmidt (Nashville) and Matthew Thornton (Phoenix) on a solo record about her journey. Most recently, Cassity released an authentically country single "If I Only Had A Heart" on I-Tunes, which had garnered a radio deal. With a newly gained perspective, she gives back daily to others through her art and music, and vows to raise Ovarian Cancer awareness.
